7. REJOICE
The congregation gives thanks to God and welcomes the new Executive Associate Pastor. COP holds an installation service. |

6. NOMINATE
Report to Session and the congregation of the successful search. Plan a Sunday morning where the called candidate can preach at COP and hold a Congregational Meeting for a vote. If approved by the congregation of COP and the Peace River Presbytery, the new Excecutive Associate Pastor can begin his/her ministry with us. |

5. SELECT
Conduct in-person interviews, visit top candidates at their churches (with confidentiality) or at neutral sites, follow-up on references. Pray, confer with COM, extend a call to one candidate. |

4. EVALUATE
Prayerfully review each Personal Information For (PIF) received, as well as available sermons, books, and administrative documents of candidates. Make phone calls for initial interviews. |

3. SEARCH
Post the CIF on the PCUSA website, advertise opening, follow-up on referrals, network for recommendations. Seek God's guidance and rely on the Holy Spirit to reveal candidates whom God might be calling. |

2. CREATE
Develop the Church Information Form (CIF) and a detailed job description, including descriptions of COP's congregation, mission and core ministries. Get approval from Session and COM. |
1. ORGANIZE
Review Church of the Palms (COP) current status based on strategic goals and ministry recommendation. Get approval from Session and Committee on Ministry (COM). Select Executive Associate Pastor Nominating Committee (EAPNC) members recommended by the Nominating Committe, endorsed by Session and voted on by the congregation. Weekly meetings begin, attended by a member of the Peace River Presbytery COM. |
